Database Administrator VI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain databases along with the underlying server infrastructure.

• Update processes, data flows, and database objects as necessary.

• Ensure databases are maintained at manufacturer-recommended maintenance levels.

• Monitor data retrieval processes and identify opportunities for performance enhancement.

• Conduct database performance tuning for applications, addressing database contention and concurrent user access.

• Maintain performance and tuning strategies for online processes and databases.

• Develop and sustain interfaces for data exchange with external systems.

• Keep an inventory of database and application interconnections and interfaces.

• Minimize downtime of databases and data replication during modifications or recovery activities.

• Execute data and database backup and recovery routines.

• Assist software and report developers by providing efficient queries and resolving database-related issues.

• Maintain database structures and synchronization software.

• Create database solutions tailored to application requirements.

• Carry out production control and quality control functions.

• Merge, import, export, extract, and consolidate data from various sources.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data and databases.

• Rectify errors related to data accuracy and completeness.

• Generate exports of specific data subsets as required.

• Analyze data to identify and address anomalies.

• Recommend and implement corrective measures when necessary.

• Develop procedures for data management and analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in database administration, database development, or a related field.

• Proven experience in administering production databases.

• Proficiency in database performance monitoring and tuning.

• Experience with database backup, recovery, and data integrity processes.

• Experience in developing or maintaining database interfaces and facilitating data exchanges.

• Advanced knowledge of database administration, development, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and data management.

• Familiarity with database architecture, structures, interfaces, data flows, and integration.

• Understanding of database security, availability, integrity, and recoverability best practices.

• Knowledge of data quality, analysis, and data management principles.

• Capability to troubleshoot complex database and data-related issues.

• Ability to develop database solutions that support application requirements.

• Proficiency in analyzing data quality, performance, and system behavior.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in technical documentation practices.

• Must successfully pass a background investigation.
