Senior Operating Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on HVAC systems, water chillers, pumps, motors, air handlers, and other associated mechanical equipment.

• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation system problems to minimize operational downtime.

• Leverage CMMS technology for managing work orders, recording maintenance activities, and monitoring system performance.

• Oversee building operations and pinpoint opportunities to enhance energy efficiency, system reliability, and overall facility effectiveness.

• Collaborate with team members, contractors, vendors, and client representatives to facilitate maintenance tasks and address service requests.

• Carry out general building maintenance duties, including basic plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.

• Ensure adherence to relevant safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements while fostering a safe working environment.

• Assist in the dependable operation, maintenance, and optimization of facilities for JLL’s client in the State of Tennessee.


⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a valid state driver’s license throughout employment.

• At least 2 years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or similar technical operations.

• Practical experience with commercial HVAC systems, including pumps, motors, air handlers, and building automation or control systems.

• Capability to troubleshoot and execute basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, web-based systems, and handheld technology devices such as tablets or smartphones.

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, occupants, contractors, and internal teams.

• Familiarity with MEP and HVAC system design, operation, and application principles.

• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for maintenance tracking and work order handling.

• Knowledge of energy management systems and building automation technologies.

• Background in supporting government, institutional, or large commercial facilities.

• Understanding of energy efficiency initiatives, sustainability practices, or operational improvement strategies.

• Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
