
Senior Oncology Sales Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Achieve and surpass sales targets for Illumina’s oncology product line.
• Acquire new accounts and enhance relationships with current customers.
• Design and implement an oncology business strategy aimed at early adopters, strategic laboratories, and clinical accounts.
• Establish and nurture relationships with oncologists, molecular pathologists, laboratory directors, and key opinion leaders.
• Collaborate with Account Managers, Sales Specialists, and Channel Partners to identify prospects, qualify leads, and finalize sales.
• Comprehend and convey intricate oncology workflows, including NGS, liquid biopsy, companion diagnostics, and biomarkers.
• Provide education and support to Account Managers, Channel Partners, and customers through resources, commercialization strategies, and product updates.
• Present at meetings, seminars, and symposia.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of oncology prospects while delivering precise CRM forecasts.
• Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Market Access, and Government Affairs.
• Collect and disseminate customer insights to guide product development and marketing strategies.
• Represent Illumina at oncology congresses, trade shows, and conferences within the territory.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• An MSc/PhD in Life Sciences, Medicine, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in a commercial, business development, market development, or marketing position within oncology.
• Proven track record in developing strategic accounts, generating new business opportunities, and fostering growth.
• Experience in facilitating the introduction or adoption of new technologies, products, or clinical solutions is highly desirable.
• Strong technical understanding of oncology workflows, including molecular biology, genomics, and NGS.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to network across various organizational levels and cultivate robust, long-term relationships with customers and KOLs.
• Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset is essential.
• Strong customer orientation and capability to operate effectively in a highly cross-functional environment.
• Ability to merge scientific knowledge with commercial and market insights.
• Proficiency in both Italian and English is required.
• Willingness to travel predominantly within Italy, with occasional trips to Slovenia, Croatia, and Greece.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
