Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues for external clients.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data-center network infrastructures.

• Launch various initiatives aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work closely with internal departments to grasp organizational requirements.

• Strive for continuous enhancement and uphold standards of operational excellence.

• Review, assess, and implement network change requests.

• Execute, document, and design network automation for repetitive processes.

• Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot IP networking components within a mission-critical Cisco Nexus datacenter network.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are secure, resilient, and prepared for the future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in medium-to-large enterprise network environments.

• Practical knowledge of network security, particularly with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Practical experience in load balancing, utilizing F5 or similar technologies.

• Practical expertise in routing protocols, including MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Practical experience in switching technologies, specifically Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS; preference for Nexus OS.

• Understanding of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols.

• Knowledge of MPLS, OSPF, and BGP and their interactions within the network.

• Experience in datacenter networking, including DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and a data-driven mindset for resolving intricate network problems.

• Competence in creating and maintaining network documentation, such as diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience with implementations in large data center environments, interoffice routing strategies, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, monitoring, etc., is advantageous.
