Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee, enhance, and resolve issues related to IP networking components within a mission-critical data center network utilizing Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Provide support for a high-scale SaaS production environment.

• Diagnose network connectivity issues impacting external clients.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data center network setups.

• Initiate projects aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work alongside internal business units to grasp organizational requirements and elevate operational standards.

• Review, analyze, and implement network change requests.

• Execute, document, and develop automation for repetitive network tasks.

• Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and prepared for future challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in managing medium to large-scale enterprise networks.

• Practical experience with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Practical experience with F5 or similar load balancing solutions.

• Practical experience with MPLS, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols.

• Practical experience with Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k switching technologies.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS; Nexus OS is preferred.

• Strong practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python (including Netmiko, Nornir, NAPALM).

• Knowledge of router platforms, LAN, WAN, router protocols, MPLS, OSPF, and BGP, including their network interactions.

• Experience in data center networking, DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and a data-driven approach to resolving complex network issues.

• Ability to create and sustain network documentation, encompassing diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience with large data center solutions, interoffice routing plans, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is advantageous.
