Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot IP networking components within a mission-critical datacenter network that utilizes Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Provide support for a large-scale SaaS production environment.

• Engage with external customers to resolve network connectivity-related issues.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data-center network environments.

• Initiate various projects aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work alongside internal business units to comprehend organizational requirements.

• Continuously strive to enhance and implement standards for operational excellence.

• Review, analyze, and act upon network change requests.

• Execute, document, and develop automation for repetitive network tasks.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are secure, resilient, and prepared for the future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience with medium-to-large enterprise networks.

• Practical experience in network security, specifically with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Proficient in load balancing technologies, including F5 or its equivalent.

• Expertise in routing protocols, such as MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Hands-on experience in switching technologies, including Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, with a preference for Nexus OS.

• Understanding of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols.

• Knowledge of how MPLS, OSPF, and BGP interact within the network.

• Experience in datacenter networking, covering DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities and a data-driven methodology for addressing complex network challenges.

• Capability to create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience with large datacenter implementations, interoffice routing plans, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is advantageous.
