Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Manage, enhance, and resolve issues with IP networking elements within a critical datacenter network utilizing Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Provide support for a large-scale SaaS production ecosystem.

• Diagnose network connectivity problems involving external clients.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data-center networking environments.

• Launch initiatives to optimize Network Operations.

• Work alongside internal business units to grasp organizational requirements and refine operational standards.

• Assess, analyze, and implement network change requests.

• Develop, document, and automate network processes for repetitive tasks.

• Engage with cross-functional teams to maintain system security, resilience, and readiness for future demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience with medium-to-large enterprise networks.

• Practical expertise in network security, particularly with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Proven experience in load balancing, including F5 or equivalent technologies.

• Proficient in routing protocols such as MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Expertise in switching technologies, especially Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, with a preference for Nexus OS.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python, including tools like Netmiko, Nornir, and NAPALM.

• Understanding of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and routing protocols.

• Knowledgeable in MPLS, OSPF, and BGP and their roles within the network.

• Experience in datacenter networking, which includes DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities and a data-driven mindset for addressing complex network challenges.

• Capability to produce and sustain network documentation, including diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience in implementing solutions involving large data centers, interoffice routing strategies, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is advantageous.
