Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Manage, enhance, and troubleshoot IP networking components within a mission-critical datacenter network established on Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Provide support for a large-scale SaaS production environment.

• Diagnose network connectivity issues affecting external customers.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data-center network environments.

• Initiate various projects aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work with internal business units to comprehend organizational requirements.

• Strive for continuous improvement and uphold standards for operational excellence.

• Review, analyze, and implement network change requests.

• Execute, document, and develop automation for repetitive network tasks.

• Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and prepared for the future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in managing medium-to-large enterprise networks.

• Practical expertise in network security, specifically with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Practical knowledge of load balancing technologies, such as F5 or similar.

• Practical experience with routing protocols, including MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Practical experience with switching technologies, including Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS; Nexus OS is preferred.

• Understanding of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols.

• Knowledge of MPLS, OSPF, and BGP and their interactions within the network.

• Experience in datacenter networking, including DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities with a data-driven approach to resolving complex network issues.

• Ability to create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience with large data center implementations, interoffice routing strategies, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is advantageous.
