Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Maintain, enhance, and resolve issues related to IP networking components within a mission-critical data center network utilizing Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Provide support for a large-scale SaaS production environment.

• Diagnose network connectivity issues affecting external clients.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data center network environments.

• Initiate various projects aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work alongside internal business units to comprehend organizational requirements and consistently elevate operational standards.

• Review, assess, and implement network change requests.

• Execute, document, and develop network automation for repetitive tasks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are secure, resilient, and prepared for the future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in medium-to-large enterprise networks.

• Practical expertise in network security, specifically with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Proficient in load balancing technologies, including F5 or its equivalent.

• Skilled in routing protocols such as MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Proficient in switching technologies, specifically Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS; Nexus OS is preferred.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python, including tools like Netmiko, Nornir, and NAPALM.

• Proven knowledge of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols.

• Experience in data center networking, covering DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and a data-driven approach to resolving complex network challenges.

• Capacity to create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience in implementing solutions involving large data centers, interoffice routing strategies, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is an advantage.
