Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues for external clients.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data center network environments.

• Initiate projects aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work with internal business units to comprehend organizational requirements.

• Strive for continuous improvement and adherence to operational excellence standards.

• Review, analyze, and implement network change requests.

• Execute, document, and create network automation for repetitive tasks.

• Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot IP networking elements within a mission-critical Cisco Nexus datacenter network.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are secure, resilient, and ready for future challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience with medium-to-large enterprise networks.

• Practical experience in network security, particularly with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Proficiency in load balancing, utilizing F5 or similar technologies.

• Expertise in routing protocols, including MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Proficient in switching technologies, specifically Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS; Nexus OS is preferred.

• Strong practical skills with Terraform, Ansible, and Python, including libraries such as Netmiko, Nornir, and NAPALM.

• Solid understanding of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols.

• Knowledgeable in datacenter networking, including DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities with a data-driven approach to complex network challenges.

• Capability to create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience in implementing solutions related to large data centers, interoffice routing strategies, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is advantageous.
