Senior .NET Legacy Modernisation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level .NET applications.

• Engage with existing legacy and hybrid applications as part of a broader application modernization initiative.

• Build and sustain solutions utilizing C# and the .NET Framework.

• Collaborate with existing WinForms and WebForms applications.

• Integrate applications and services using REST APIs, SOAP web services, and XML.

• Examine current applications to comprehend dependencies, integrations, and business logic.

• Assist in the modernization and transformation of legacy applications into manageable .NET solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues across both existing and modernized applications.

• Work proficiently within codebases that incorporate C#, VB.NET, and legacy technologies.

• Collaborate with consultants, developers, and other technical specialists engaged in the broader modernization initiative.

• Contribute to technical decision-making, development standards, and sustainable engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant commercial experience as a Senior .NET Developer working on enterprise-level applications.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with C# and the .NET Framework.

• Strong practical experience with WinForms and/or WebForms.

• Essential production experience integrating and utilizing REST APIs, SOAP web services, and XML.

• Experience with large, complex, or business-critical applications.

• Solid understanding of existing codebases and effective collaboration with legacy systems.

• Experience in maintaining, enhancing, or modernizing established enterprise applications.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.

• Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for complex technical tasks.

• Comfortable working remotely as part of an international engineering team.

• Experience in an Agile, cross-functional team environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Commercial experience with VB.NET, particularly in applications involving both VB.NET and C# (desirable).

• Prior experience in application modernization or legacy transformation initiatives (desirable).

• Experience in complex or regulated enterprise environments (desirable).

• Knowledge of CA Gen / Cool (desirable).

• Experience with applications or components generated from, integrated with, or being migrated away from CA Gen (desirable).

• Broader exposure to legacy enterprise or mainframe environments (desirable).
