Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance native Android experiences on highly visible consumer platforms.

• Contribute to the architecture and advancement of reusable mobile foundations, frameworks, and platform functionalities.

• Lead technical initiatives aimed at improving scalability, performance, reliability, and developer experience.

• Ensure engineering quality through code reviews, testing methodologies, observability, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product vision and technical strategy.

• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and growth within the engineering team.

• Enhance tooling, workflows, documentation, and shared engineering standards.

• Engage in experimentation and prototyping of new product experiences.

• Balance immediate product needs with the long-term sustainability of the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in building native Android applications using Kotlin.

• Background in large-scale consumer-facing applications that demand high performance and reliability.

• Strong understanding of scalable, maintainable mobile architecture and reusable components.

• Emphasis on user experience, accessibility, and performance.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions in cross-functional settings.

• Ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of making thoughtful technical trade-offs.

• Full professional proficiency in English.

• Located in Sweden and available to start in November 2026.

• Experience with Jetpack Compose and modular app architecture (Nice to Have).

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Nice to Have).

• Knowledge of mobile CI/CD, testing frameworks, and observability tools (Nice to Have).

• Experience in media, streaming, or other high-traffic consumer products (Nice to Have).
