Senior Mobile Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and refine a practical test pyramid for React Native.

• Balance coverage, reliability, and speed throughout the mobile application.

• Establish and uphold standards for mobile release quality.

• Design and manage mobile end-to-end (E2E) test suites in Maestro, which includes test data, device configurations, helpers, and reporting.

• Incorporate test suites into GitHub Actions CI to provide quick, reliable feedback for pull requests and releases.

• Minimize test flakiness and diagnosis time through thorough root-cause analysis.

• Utilize AI tools to expedite test creation, cluster failures, identify coverage gaps, and suggest solutions.

• Develop AI-enhanced mobile testing workflows, encompassing prompts, guardrails, and review processes.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on shift-left quality initiatives and clarify acceptance criteria.

• Leverage Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to link test coverage with production issues and customer impact.

• Conduct targeted exploratory testing for high-risk releases.

• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and designers to establish a quality vision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with Maestro or Detox.

• Over 6 years of experience in quality engineering or test automation.

• Proven experience in implementing AI-assisted testing methods, including test generation, failure clustering, and coverage analytics, with appropriate controls for review and trust.

• Proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript.

• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines focused on test reliability, encompassing flakiness reduction, parallelization, artifact management, and runtime control.

• Familiar with mobile E2E automation, or possess significant E2E experience on another platform, along with a credible plan to quickly become productive in mobile.

• Capable of working independently and driving improvements across frameworks, CI, test data, and reporting.

• Hands-on experience testing React Native applications is preferred.

• Experience in mobile performance and reliability is advantageous.

• Familiarity with API and contract testing is a plus.
