Senior Medical Science Liaison, West Division

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Build and sustain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic institutions, community oncology practices, and healthcare systems.

• Create, revise, and present scientific and medical educational materials, including slide presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and clinical data presentations.

• Oversee and coordinate scientific engagement at national and regional congresses, symposia, grand rounds, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.

• Act as a subject matter expert for commercial, market access, clinical development, and marketing teams.

• Provide scientific updates and educational briefings to internal stakeholders.

• Identify opportunities for strategic KOL engagement, educational initiatives, clinical research collaborations, and outreach within healthcare systems.

• Serve as the Medical Affairs lead for Clinical Advisory Boards, including planning, agenda creation, and facilitation.

• Capture and translate insights from advisory boards and field interactions into actionable medical and business strategies.

• Maintain expertise in oncology care pathways, cancer patient-management algorithms, molecular testing strategies, laboratory-developed tests (LDTs), and biomarker-driven diagnostics.

• Address complex medical and scientific inquiries and document responses in CRM systems.

• Support the generation of scientific evidence, abstract development, and manuscript writing.

• Gather and convey voice-of-customer insights to guide medical strategy, product development, and cross-functional decisions.

• Travel extensively within the assigned territory and attend national meetings and conferences.

• Perform additional duties that support Medical Affairs objectives and organizational priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the biotechnology, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical sectors, holding a PhD or PharmD.

• Expertise in cancer genomics.

• Understanding of biomarker and therapeutic development.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, effective time-management skills, and a personal initiative.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

• Proven ability to work independently in a home-based setting while managing multiple priorities.

• A strong orientation towards teamwork.

• Self-motivated, highly driven, and adaptable in a dynamic and evolving environment.

• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and to national and other meetings, up to 75% of the time.
