Senior Medical Science Liaison – Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the Ohio region that aligns with Medical Affairs objectives and goals.

• Facilitate two-way scientific dialogue with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

• Build and nurture professional relationships with community and academic healthcare providers and KOLs.

• Utilize MSL tools and insights to formulate strategic approaches for customer engagement.

• Employ AI tools to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Identify educational needs of providers and deliver customized, scientifically accurate responses.

• Convey complex clinical evidence through clear and meaningful scientific discussions.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Serve as the point of contact for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategies and MSL priorities while adapting to evolving data and organizational shifts.

• Collaborate with MSL field colleagues, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing teams.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-directed learning, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer interactions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging both internally and externally.

• Stay informed about regulatory, healthcare compliance, business conduct, ethics, and Medical Affairs SOPs.

• Create performance and development plans and oversee leadership projects.

• Fulfill administrative duties, including expense reporting and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, showcasing proven success as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge with competencies in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to manage a designated territory with up to 70% travel, including in-territory visits and participation in internal meetings, external congresses, and related events.

• Must possess a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).

• Residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Familiarity or experience in the therapeutic area is advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is desired.

• Must be located in a major metropolitan area; Cleveland or Columbus is preferred.

• Demonstrated commitment to learning about emerging technologies, including AI.
