Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the designated territory.

• Facilitate two-way scientific dialogue with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

• Establish strong professional relationships with both community and academic HCPs/KOLs.

• Utilize MSL tools and AI insights to enhance customer engagement, decision-making, processes, and outcomes.

• Assess the educational needs of providers and deliver customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Present scientific data through discussions and presentations customized to the needs of HCPs.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional conversations.

• Assist investigators and internal partners with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while adapting to changing data and organizational goals.

• Collaborate in a compliant manner with MSL colleagues, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging within both internal and external communities.

• Stay informed about regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Create performance and development plans and lead leadership initiatives.

• Fulfill administrative tasks such as expense reports and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is essential for Doctoral level candidates.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including proven success as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Capacity to support a defined territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid US Driver’s License is preferred.

• Residency or fellowship experience is preferred.

• Knowledge or experience in the therapeutic area is preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is preferred.

• A commitment to learning about emerging technologies, including AI.

• Residing in a major metropolitan area; Columbus, Cleveland, or Syracuse is preferred.
