Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the designated territory.

• Facilitate reciprocal scientific discussions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

• Establish and nurture professional relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs.

• Leverage MSL tools and AI insights to enhance customer engagement, decision-making, processes, and outcomes.

• Assess provider educational requirements and provide customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Communicate complex clinical data through clear and effective scientific dialogue.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Assist investigators and internal stakeholders in company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while adapting to changes in data and organizational needs.

• Collaborate in a compliant manner with MSL field partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-education, journal clubs, seminars, conferences, and peer interactions.

• Promote inclusion and belonging within both internal and external communities.

• Stay informed about regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs standards.

• Create performance and development plans and lead leadership projects.

• Fulfill administrative responsibilities, including expense reporting and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is necessary (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is needed for Doctoral candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, showcasing proven success as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Capability to cover a defined territory with up to 70% travel.

• Must possess a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).

• Completion of residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Familiarity or experience in the therapeutic area is desirable.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is required.

• Dedication to learning about emerging technologies such as AI.

• Residing in a major metropolitan area; Columbus, Cleveland, or Syracuse is preferred.
