Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the designated territory.

• Participate in bi-directional scientific discussions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

• Identify and nurture relationships with community and academic HCPs and KOLs.

• Utilize MSL tools and insights to strategize customer interactions while identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities.

• Employ AI technologies to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Assess provider educational needs and offer customized, scientifically balanced responses.

• Convey scientific data through discussions and presentations, simplifying complex clinical evidence for meaningful dialogue.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights to inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional conversations.

• Assist investigators and internal partners with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while adapting to changing data and organizational needs.

• Collaborate compliantly with MSL partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-directed study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and belonging both internally and externally.

• Stay informed about regulatory standards, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs SOPs.

• Develop performance and growth plans and lead leadership projects.

• Fulfill administrative duties, including expense reports and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is essential (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is required for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience, showcasing success as an MSL.

• Strong background in scientific/therapeutic expertise, including research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Capability to support a defined territory with up to 70% travel.

• Must possess a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).

• Residency or fellowship experience is preferred.

• Knowledge or experience in the relevant therapeutic area.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, and familiar with computers and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience.

• Commitment to learning about emerging technologies such as AI.

• Must be located in a major metropolitan area; preference for NYC, New Haven, Brooklyn, or Burlington.
