Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the designated territory.

• Facilitate two-way scientific dialogue with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

• Identify and nurture relationships with both community and academic HCPs/KOLs.

• Utilize MSL tools and insights to plan customer interactions and identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.

• Employ AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Recognize the educational needs of providers and deliver customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Communicate complex clinical evidence through clear and effective dialogue tailored to stakeholders.

• Gather and submit actionable insights to inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional discussions.

• Assist investigators and internal partners with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective and compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while adapting to changing data and organizational needs.

• Collaborate with MSL field partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging within internal and external communities.

• Acquire knowledge of regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs policies.

• Formulate performance and development plans and undertake leadership projects with the direct manager.

• Fulfill administrative duties, including expense reporting and documentation of activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is essential for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• 2+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise, with skills in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to support a defined territory with up to 70% travel commitment.

• Must possess a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).

• Residency or fellowship experience is preferred.

• Knowledge or experience in the relevant therapeutic area is desired.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical experience is required.

• Demonstrated commitment to learning about emerging technologies, such as AI.

• Residing in a major metropolitan area; preference for NYC, New Haven, Brooklyn, or Burlington.
