Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the Pacific Northwest region.

• Facilitate two-way scientific discussions with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

• Establish connections with community and academic healthcare providers/key opinion leaders.

• Utilize MSL tools and insights to shape customer engagement strategies and pinpoint gaps, risks, and opportunities.

• Employ AI tools to enhance decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes.

• Recognize educational needs of providers and deliver customized, balanced scientific information.

• Convey complex clinical data through clear, effective dialogues tailored to stakeholders.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights to inform medical strategies, asset planning, and cross-functional discussions.

• Assist investigators and internal teams for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities while being adaptable to changing data and organizational needs.

• Collaborate compliantly with MSL colleagues, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-education, journal clubs, seminars, conferences, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and a sense of belonging within internal and external communities.

• Stay informed about regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs standards.

• Create performance and development plans and lead leadership projects.

• Fulfill administrative tasks, including expense reporting and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is required for doctoral-level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with proven success as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Must be able to support the designated territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid US Driver’s License is required (listed as preferred).

• Residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Familiarity with or experience in the therapeutic area is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Related clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is preferred.

• A commitment to learning and integrating emerging technologies, such as AI, is essential.

• Must be located in a major metropolitan area; Spokane, Boise, or Portland is preferred.
