This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly audits of professional fees and/or facility E/M, surgery, and IR/VIR coding for clients.
• Perform retrospective audits on vendor coders and individual clients to ensure quality assurance.
• Provide educational sessions for vendors and clients based on the findings of audits.
• Verify that vendors and clients adhere to official coding guidelines.
• Generate audit reports and summaries for clients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Develop and manage auditing schedules.
• Assist and educate the internal coding team.
• Uphold strict HIPAA compliance and adhere to state and federal regulations regarding the release of information.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution along with four (4) years of combined experience in professional fee/facility auditing and/or ICD coding and/or CPT/HCPCS; OR a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and eight (8) years of combined experience to substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.
• At least three years of combined experience in professional fee/facility auditing and/or coding in ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT/HCPCS.
• Certification from AAPC and/or AHIMA, such as CPC, CPMA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, RRC, or CIRCC.
• Minimum of one year of training and proficiency in ICD-10.
• Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
• Professional demeanor, adaptability, reliability, eagerness to learn, dedication to excellence, and a commitment to the field.
• Up-to-date knowledge of CPT, PCS, and ICD-10 coding principles along with government regulations and policies.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Teams, and Word.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform under time constraints.
• Capability to plan, organize, and prioritize job responsibilities under general supervision.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country of employment without requiring employment visa sponsorship.
