Senior Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear Plant Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare or evaluate calculations, assessments, and technical reports that support client recommendations and reviews.

• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization assessments, and selection based on client requirements.

• Assist clients and project teams with mechanical engineering tasks.

• Engage in system engineering, encompassing the design, modification, and analysis of mechanical systems in nuclear power plants.

• Collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver technical discussions and updates on project status.

• Create engineering proposals and cost estimates.

• Guide junior engineering personnel on technical responsibilities related to power plant engineering.

• May require travel to client and vendor offices for design assessments and to plant locations for meetings and field verification.

• Lead or supervise automation and process improvement initiatives that involve engineering calculations, technical documents, and design documentation.

• Review automated outputs generated by engineers using programming or scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.

• Strong academic foundation and enthusiasm for thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.

• At least 7 years of experience within the nuclear power sector.

• Exceptional skills in technical report writing.

• Understanding of the practical implementation of mechanical engineering and technology in project design.

• Keen interest in numerical computations and problem-solving.

• Familiarity with codes, standards, and regulations relevant to mechanical engineering design in nuclear power plants.

• Proficient in MS Office applications.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Must not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.

• A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from an ABET-accredited program is preferred but not mandatory.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not essential.

• Willingness or capability to lead others using automation and AI tools.

• Additional education in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related disciplines is preferred.
