Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized technical knowledge to both internal team members and external clients in the field of data center mechanical engineering.

• Offer guidance, training, and expert-level advice on system selection, market developments, specialized consulting, and client-specific contexts.

• Support client engagement, networking, opportunity identification, and the expansion of mission-critical projects.

• Counsel clients regarding mechanical engineering aspects within the data center environment.

• Provide direction on system types and strategies for rack cooling.

• Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams, vendors, and contractors.

• Act as the primary mechanical discipline contact during high-level discussions with clients.

• Involve in all project stages, from pursuits and proposals to design and construction.

• Develop thought leadership initiatives to enhance Arcadis's presence in the data center market.

• Support the creation of proposals, engineering methodologies, and successful strategies.

• Travel as necessary for pursuit discussions, project meetings, site visits, and client interactions.

• Work in collaboration with colleagues from various global locations.

• Mentor junior staff members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering specific to data centers.

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration.

• Knowledge of industry standards and building codes related to data centers and the mission-critical sector.

• Proficient in advising on mechanical system types and rack cooling strategies.

• Capable of coordinating with various engineering disciplines, vendors, and contractors.

• Preferred: 5 years of experience in the design of Data Center/Mission Critical systems, including data centers and other resilient/redundant facilities.
