Lead Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in the design of systems for nuclear power plants.

• Prepare or evaluate modification packages for active nuclear power plants.

• Create or assess functional mechanical drawings and schematics for nuclear power plant systems.

• Develop or review engineering analyses and evaluations that support modifications and the operation of plant systems.

• Generate or assess technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.

• Conduct evaluations of vendor bids for plant equipment.

• Carry out studies and evaluations of options for modifications to operational nuclear power plants.

• Create engineering cost estimates for small to medium-sized work scopes requested by clients.

• Visit client offices and/or plant sites to collaborate with clients and deliver presentations on engineering tasks and their status.

• Lead teams in engineering projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

• At least 10 years of experience in the power industry.

• Proficient understanding of the codes, standards, and regulations applicable to mechanical engineering design in nuclear power plants.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is appreciated but not essential.
