Senior Market Surveillance Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Manage comprehensive investigations into market abuse from start to finish

• Document findings to a standard that regulators can trust and communicate conclusions to stakeholders

• Take the lead or assist in regular reviews of thresholds and models

• Adjust surveillance rules and alert thresholds as trading behaviors, products, and market structures change

• Aid in the design, development, and integration of surveillance platform functionalities

• Integrate new products, venues, and data sources into the surveillance system

• Contribute to assessments of market-abuse risks across various products, jurisdictions, and entities

• Convert risk-assessment results into surveillance coverage

• Leverage AI and automation to expedite evidence collection, case reconstruction, and the development of detection models under human oversight

• Assist with matters related to conflicts of interest, information barriers, and personal account dealings within Markets Compliance

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in investigating market abuse or trading practices within a regulated entity such as an exchange, broker-dealer, trading venue, or similar regulated trading operation

• Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations from start to finish, producing regulator-reliable findings and presenting conclusions to stakeholders

• Knowledge of market abuse typologies, including spoofing, wash trading, insider trading, front running, and ramping

• Experience or strong familiarity with threshold and model calibration, integration of surveillance platforms, market abuse risk assessments, and audit remediation

• Comfort in utilizing generative AI and automation tools while ensuring human oversight is maintained

• Familiarity with surveillance platforms such as Scila, Nasdaq SMARTS, Eventus, or NICE Actimize

• Proficiency in SQL or a similar query tool for gathering evidence

• Strong written communication skills, focusing on clear evidence presentation

• Exposure to crypto-asset markets is appreciated but not mandatory

• Experience in e-communications surveillance is a plus
