This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Collaborate with State Managers, RVPs, RSDs, Underwriting Managers, and Small Commercial Sales Managers to deliver strategic business analysis at the Market and/or Agency level.
• Propel Commercial Lines business outcomes based on growth-state or core-state initiatives.
• Evaluate agency competitive positioning, economic and financial modeling, observations, and data interpretation.
• Assess and analyze loss ratios and production trends at the Agency/Micro-Territory level, including identifying root causes and providing recommendations for enhancement.
• Oversee portfolio trends at state, market, and Agency/Micro-Territory levels, pinpointing outliers that require further analysis.
• Present findings and recommendations to State Managers, RVPs, and RSDs while influencing discussions and decisions.
• Coordinate and evaluate Agency/Micro-Territory-level reports, encompassing production, mix, and book roll metrics.
• Detect monthly and quarterly shifts in results and suggest follow-up analyses.
• Collaborate with State Managers to establish essential success metrics and report on progress toward objectives.
• Meet the annual Commercial Lines targets for loss ratio, premium, new business, profile enhancement, and renewal retention.
• Offer insights and strategic partnership to State Managers regarding agency/Micro-Territory strategies.
• Engage in rate reviews, including preparation and subsequent analysis and assessment of competitive positioning and opportunities.
• Review competitor filings, gather field insights regarding competitor changes, and consolidate information into monthly reports.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a team setting.
• Results-driven, with the capability to proactively anticipate and manage one’s own workload.
• Familiarity with all Small CL products and state-specific nuances.
• Proficient in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of the insurance sector.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
• Capability to compile and synthesize data and apply judgment to interpret and extract findings from analysis and reporting.
• Ability to exert influence without authority.
• Strong decision-making capabilities.
• Proficient in training and mentoring others.
• Demonstrated self-motivation; capable of functioning with minimal supervision.
