Senior Managing Director, Head of IG Fixed Income

📋 Description

• Oversee the global investment-grade platform encompassing public corporate credit, structured products, and investment-grade private credit.

• Formulate and implement global credit strategies that align with enterprise goals and RGA’s liability-driven investment approach.

• Assume responsibility for investment performance, portfolio results, and risk management.

• Guide asset class portfolio construction and investment decision-making within established parameters.

• Collaborate with Investment Solutions, Global Portfolio Management, Risk, Finance, and regional investment leaders.

• Lead and unify global investment teams across the North American, EMEA, and APAC regions.

• Create, nurture, and retain a high-performing team of approximately 33 analysts, strategists, and traders.

• Assess organizational structures, talent strategies, and operational models.

• Act as a strategic collaborator with executive leadership and business stakeholders.

• Represent the investment platform to senior leadership, boards, regulators, rating agencies, clients, and external partners.

• Advocate for modernization through technology, data, automation, and artificial intelligence.

⛳️ Requirements

• MBA with 15+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree in an Economics/Finance-related field with 20+ years of relevant experience.

• 10+ years of leadership experience.

• CFA designation or significant progress towards it.

• Extensive knowledge of investment-grade fixed income markets, including public corporate credit, structured products, and investment-grade private placements.

• Profound experience in credit underwriting, portfolio construction, and portfolio management.

• Proven track record in developing and executing investment strategies that balance risk-adjusted returns, capital efficiency, liquidity, risk, and insurance business objectives.

• Experience leading large, globally distributed investment organizations and fostering high-performing cultures.

• Familiarity with applying agentic AI and emerging technologies to credit research, portfolio construction, and trading.

• Outstanding strategic leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.

• Strong grasp of insurance company investing, asset-liability management, regulatory capital frameworks, accounting considerations, and perspectives from rating agencies.

• Understanding of Bermuda regulatory frameworks under both Standard and Scenario-Based Approaches.

• Experience driving organizational transformation and enhancing investment processes, governance, and outcomes.

• Capability to establish ownership, accountability, performance expectations, talent development, succession plans, and organizational capabilities.

• Experience collaborating in complex matrix organizations.

• Proficiency in leveraging technology, data, automation, and artificial intelligence.

• Strong investment judgment and commercial insight.

• Preferred: Masters, ASA, FSA, or CAIA.
