This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Lead, coach, develop, and oversee a regional Oncology Field Reimbursement Manager team.
β’ Build, recruit, and onboard a team prepared for portfolio management with well-defined role expectations, territory readiness, development plans, and accountability.
β’ Establish expectations for field execution, customer engagement, account prioritization, business planning, performance management, and compliant usage of approved resources.
β’ Mentor Field Reimbursement Managers during field travel, ride-alongs, team meetings, business reviews, and tailored development plans.
β’ Ensure that Field Reimbursement Managers educate relevant healthcare provider office staff and account stakeholders on coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, payer requirements, product acquisition, specialty pharmacy/distribution, and affordability support.
β’ Convert oncology portfolio strategy, franchise priorities, payer dynamics, patient support objectives, and multiple myeloma launch readiness into regional execution strategies.
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, Brand, Training, Analytics, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, hub, and vendor partners.
β’ Define training, tools, workflows, dashboards, account education priorities, and feedback mechanisms for portfolio and launch readiness.
β’ Monitor team activities, capacity, account coverage, quality, compliance, and performance through analytics, reporting tools, field insights, and business reviews.
β’ Engage key oncology and hematology accounts to identify access barriers and assist in solving complex reimbursement or affordability challenges.
β’ Capture and escalate field insights concerning payer policies, coverage barriers, prior authorization trends, site-of-care issues, coding/billing challenges, specialty distribution dynamics, customer education needs, and portfolio or launch risks.
β’ Contribute to the advancement of the Oncology Field Reimbursement Manager operating model.
β’ Ensure all activities adhere to AbbVie policies, relevant laws and regulations, compliance requirements, and approved materials and processes.
β’ Speed up onboarding for new Field Reimbursement Managers regarding role readiness, technical knowledge, territory understanding, portfolio fluency, and compliance expectations.
β’ Establish field execution standards for consistent portfolio support, pre-launch readiness, launch, and post-launch execution.
β’ Utilize field insights to guide portfolio planning, multiple myeloma launch preparedness, training, operational readiness, customer support needs, and ongoing improvement.
β’ Bachelor's degree required; a degree in health sciences, pharmacy, business, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in field reimbursement, market access, managed care, payer support, patient services, oncology field support, specialty pharmacy/distribution, hub services, or a similar healthcare role.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in leading, coaching, developing, or managing field-based teams is preferred.
β’ Experience in oncology and/or hematology-oncology is strongly preferred.
β’ Familiarity with physician-administered therapies, buy-and-bill products, medical benefit reimbursement, specialty distribution/pharmacy, or complex access models is strongly preferred.
β’ Experience in launch, indication expansion, territory buildout, or organizational scaling is strongly preferred.
β’ Knowledge of coverage, coding, billing, reimbursement, benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, claims submission, payer policy, affordability support, and patient support program operations.
β’ Capability to lead through uncertainty, develop team capabilities, manage change, and deliver results within a matrixed, regulated environment.
β’ Strong skills in people leadership, coaching, talent development, and performance management.
β’ Ability to build and scale teams during periods of growth, change, portfolio expansion, or launch readiness.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of oncology access and reimbursement dynamics, including payer policy, coding, claims submission, prior authorization and appeals, product acquisition, specialty pharmacy/distribution, and white-bagging.
β’ Ability to translate portfolio and launch strategies into clear field execution priorities and measurable action plans.
β’ Proficient in business planning, account prioritization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
β’ Capability to leverage data, insights, and field feedback to monitor performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
β’ High levels of integrity, judgment, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and compliance orientation.
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex oncology portfolio and travel extensively within the designated geography.
