This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise and evaluate U.S. Statutory (NAIC), U.S. GAAP, regulatory, tax, and/or Board accounting and financial reporting for the Insurance Company's Separate Accounts, along with its subsidiaries and affiliates.
• Lead a team responsible for preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual statutory NAIC state financial reports, supplements, annual audited financial statements, and VSA accounting.
• Manage the investment presentation within quarterly financial statements.
• Conduct research and recommend disclosures and report modifications in light of new pronouncements, guidelines, and investment types.
• Interpret authoritative pronouncements and guidelines to assess accounting and reporting implications.
• Suggest modifications to accounting systems and the presentation of information.
• Oversee enhancements and improvements to processes that support accounting and reporting initiatives.
• Supervise the implementation of new processes and projects.
• Manage investment audits and articulate the Company’s position.
• Direct the design and implementation of controls for accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Ensure an effective control environment by addressing and resolving compliance issues.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of financial reporting experience is required.
• Proficient in advanced MS Office applications, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred 3–5 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in public accounting or investment-related financial reporting is necessary.
• Strong understanding of U.S. Statutory (NAIC) and/or GAAP accounting principles.
• Previous experience in investments is highly preferred.
• Possess strong technical and analytical skills, along with effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Capacity to apply creative thinking to enhance business processes and internal controls, following through from design to implementation.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities and excellent organizational skills; adept at managing and prioritizing multiple competing tasks.
• Self-motivated; capable of navigating ambiguity and eager to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly with advanced Excel capabilities.
• Possess a process improvement mindset.
• Experience with Alteryx and Wings annual statement software is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available, including CPT/OPT.
• Must have reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection and a suitably equipped home workspace for remote work.
