Senior Accountant, Commercial Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare and record journal entries for accessories and merchandise sales, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition under ASC 606 and evaluating principal-versus-agent scenarios.

• Take responsibility for inventory accounting, encompassing cost of goods sold, inventory adjustments, reserves, and conducting monthly reconciliations.

• Oversee the complete accounting process for customer returns, which includes estimating reserves, recording transactions, and performing reconciliations.

• Collaborate with IT and Digital teams to design and validate transaction flows, including e-commerce API integrations with the ERP system.

• Manage monthly closing activities, perform account reconciliations, oversee inventory roll-forwards, and generate product-line profitability reports.

• Work in partnership with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives.

• Develop and uphold internal controls and scalable processes to ensure SOX compliance.

• Assist with external audits and financial statement disclosures pertaining to inventory and revenue.

• Assess new products, sales channels, and operational modifications for their accounting implications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.

• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606, along with practical experience in applying principal/agent assessments in a merchandise or e-commerce setting.

• Familiarity with inventory accounting, including COGS, reserves, and physical count reconciliation.

• Proficient in ERP systems, with SAP experience being preferred.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Demonstrated ability to create processes from the ground up in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
