This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee compliance with U.S. federal and state corporate income tax regulations, ensuring timely and precise filing of returns, extensions, and tax payments.
• Review the Company's quarterly and annual U.S. income tax provision in accordance with IFRS, encompassing current and deferred tax calculations along with supporting documentation.
• Manage estimated tax payments efficiently.
• Lead the response efforts to audits and notices from the IRS and state tax authorities.
• Develop, maintain, and improve tax processes, controls, and documentation.
• Analyze tax accounting implications stemming from significant transactions and tax positions.
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to guarantee accurate reporting of tax-related issues.
• Support U.S. tax planning initiatives while evaluating and modeling U.S. tax implications of strategic business activities and transactions.
• Monitor changes in U.S. tax legislation and evaluate their impact on Company operations.
• Assist with tax due diligence, acquisition structuring, integration activities, and compliance matters post-acquisition.
• Assess tax risks and planning opportunities related to acquisitions and reorganizations.
• Manage, mentor, and develop members of the U.S. tax team.
• Help set priorities, allocate work, and ensure high-quality execution across compliance, reporting, and special projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor and key partner in managing the Company's U.S. tax function.
• CPA designation, Master of Taxation, or an equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in U.S. corporate income tax, including time spent at a large multinational public company and/or a Big Four accounting firm.
• Strong technical understanding of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax rules and regulations.
• Experience with U.S. tax accounting and income tax provisions compliant with IFRS and/or ASC 740.
• Exceptional U.S. tax research, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience managing tax audits and liaising with taxing authorities.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize competing demands, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in tax technology and compliance software, including OneSource.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, and corporate restructurings.
• Background in a technology, software, or highly acquisitive organization.
• Experience within a multinational tax context.
• Strong skills in process improvement and tax technology.
