Senior Manager, Technical Program Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and guide a team of Technical Program Managers, providing consistent feedback.

• Collaborate with the Director of Technical Program Management and leadership in Product and Engineering to staff the PMO.

• Align the resourcing and assignments of the TPM team with the company's business goals.

• Create and uphold program management standards, including documentation, project plans, status reports, post-mortems, and team direction.

• Formulate the long-term strategy and vision for the Program Management function.

• Develop the job family, career advancement framework, and long-term hiring and growth objectives.

• Foster relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Security, and GTM.

• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and eliminate obstacles.

• Establish and monitor KPIs for programs and team members.

• Lead strategic planning while influencing staffing decisions, project timelines, and planning stakeholders.

• Spearhead the development and standardization of GitLab’s centralized Engineering PMO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience as a people manager and as an individual contributor Technical Program Manager, preferably in a senior role.

• Capability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.

• Demonstrated history of successful collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience in developing and implementing strategic team development plans.

• Proficient in coaching others to drive cross-functional product initiatives without direct control over the programs.

• Proven ability to establish oneself and the team as trusted partners and thought leaders.

• Capacity to integrate AI into daily workflows.
