Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, Packaging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Lead the implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives at the business unit level focused on the Packaging category.

• Act as the intermediary between business unit stakeholders and RTX strategic sourcing.

• Drive the oneRTX sourcing strategy for negotiating with regional packaging suppliers and executing master terms agreements through RightSource gates.

• Function as the primary contact for RFPs and sourcing strategies within the category business unit.

• Conduct internal business assessments, which involve gathering requirements, analyzing the current state, and examining usage trends.

• Contribute to sourcing decisions, supplier selection, and award recommendations.

• Assist with proposal responses, cost justification, and sourcing documentation for aftermarket or customer-facing solutions.

• Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to validate supplier cost models and inputs.

• Coordinate supply risk mitigation strategies for critical suppliers and materials.

• Monitor risk indicators such as single-source dependencies, capacity constraints, and geopolitical disruptions.

• Support various categories as organizational needs and business priorities evolve.

• Manage additional business unit-specific responsibilities as assigned.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

⛳️ Requirements

• A University Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience, or 14 years of relevant experience without a degree.

• Experience in Procurement/Sourcing for Non-Product/Indirect and/or Direct categories.

• Proven experience in managing corporate categories/commodities through supplier negotiations and contract execution.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• CPSM, CPM, or industry-specific credentials such as CPIM are preferred.

• Ability to exercise independent business judgment effectively.

• Capacity to work with global and regional teams through leadership and influence.

• Skill in leading the analysis and resolution of complex issues.

• Experience working across diverse industries such as Aerospace, Defense & Space.

• Exceptional communication skills are essential.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
