This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain the Solutions Engineering team.
• Define team ownership and territory assignments.
• Establish technical quality benchmarks for demonstrations, trial strategies, site evaluations, and customer-facing documentation.
• Manage capacity allocation within the segment and ensure resource trade-offs are transparent to leadership.
• Drive technical victories under a two-to-one coverage model.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for critical pursuits, deployments, and customer challenges.
• Collaborate with Sales leadership on pipeline management, forecasting, account planning, and land-and-expand strategies.
• Establish the Small Cities team and its operational framework.
• Ensure the quality of site assessments and confirm dock locations prior to deployment.
• Maintain high standards for structured proofs of concept linked to active opportunities and measurable operational value.
• Oversee integrations and airspace strategies, including CAD, dispatch, video and evidence management, streaming platforms, BVLOS approvals, waivers, COAs, and docked operations.
• Stay informed about public sector procurement processes, including cooperative contracts, grant-funded initiatives, and public sector buying cycles.
• Convey the collective customer perspective to Product and Engineering.
• Create enablement materials, reference architectures, and reusable technical resources.
• Keep up-to-date with product knowledge through regular hands-on engagement.
• Report to the Director of Solutions Engineering – SLED.
• Over 5 years of relevant technical experience, including customer-facing roles in solutions engineering, field engineering, or applications engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience leading a technical team, either formally or as a technical lead with responsibilities for hiring and mentorship.
• Strong grasp of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with Drone as First Responder operational concepts and dock-based remote operations.
• Working knowledge of Public Safety technologies, including CAD, VMS, and associated software platforms.
• Capability to lead integration discussions.
• Proven track record in hiring, onboarding, developing, and retaining technical talent.
• Comfort in operating within a Sales organization, including managing a quota and deal strategy.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to take necessary actions to resolve customer issues.
• Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
• Capacity to lift up to 60 lbs unaided.
• FAA Part 107 certification is mandatory for specific positions; obtaining it within the first 60 days is highly encouraged for all Skydio employees.
