Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the technical strategy and roadmap for one or more software engineering teams.

• Align engineering initiatives with product and business goals.

• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and dependable software systems.

• Establish standards for code quality, testing, observability, and performance metrics.

• Manage, mentor, and cultivate the skills of engineering managers and senior engineers.

• Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture that emphasizes learning, accountability, and impact.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Program Management, and other stakeholders to prioritize tasks.

• Balance immediate delivery needs with the long-term health of the platform, making data-driven trade-off decisions.

• Create and monitor engineering metrics such as reliability, throughput, and quality.

• Influence and coordinate initiatives across teams, addressing dependencies and risks.

• Advocate for CI/CD practices, automation, cloud-native architectures, and tools that enhance developer productivity and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

• 10+ years of experience in the software engineering field.

• 3+ years in a leadership position, such as engineering manager or senior engineering manager.

• Proven experience leading teams that develop and maintain production software.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering and scaling high-availability, high-volume applications or platforms within a modern cloud setting.

• Background in building, mentoring, and retaining diverse engineering teams.

• Experience in fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

• Proven ability to collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, launch features, and iterate based on data and customer feedback.
