This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Take ownership of the complete commercial relationship with designated large CPG accounts.
• Create and implement multi-year growth strategies for accounts to increase volume, enhance product mix, and strengthen customer reliance on Bay State Milling's oat ingredient offerings.
• Foster customer relationships by gaining insights into their business models, category priorities, formulation challenges, consumer trends, and decision-making processes.
• Spot and pursue opportunities for expanding share-of-wallet.
• Achieve annual and long-term targets for revenue, margins, and volume for the assigned accounts.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within targeted CPG segments.
• Develop and sustain a pipeline of new business opportunities, providing updates on progress and commercial forecasts to senior management.
• Track market trends related to oats, gluten-free ingredients, plant-based foods, functional nutrition, alternative dairy, and snacking.
• Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and customer-facing engagements.
• Lead annual contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and volume commitments in collaboration with operations and finance teams.
• Convert market feedback into priorities for product development, supply chain, and operations.
• Collaborate with R&D and technical service teams to align customer formulation needs with Bay State Milling's ingredient capabilities.
• Work cross-functionally with operations, R&D, and supply chain teams.
• 7–10+ years of sales or commercial experience within food ingredients, grain-based foods, specialty agriculture, or related value-added food ingredient categories.
• Proven ability to manage and grow large CPG accounts in a complex B2B sales environment, including multi-stakeholder relationships across procurement, R&D, technical, supply chain, and senior leadership.
• Established track record in new business development — capable of identifying, developing, and closing opportunities in competitive selling scenarios.
• In-depth understanding of CPG customer dynamics: innovation pipelines, procurement cycles, formulation decision-making, and supply chain needs.
• Strong commercial acumen — experience in pricing, margin management, forecasting, account planning, negotiations, and ensuring customer profitability.
• Ability to work independently in a lean organization while effectively collaborating with internal partners.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in business, food science, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% to customer sites, industry events, and key markets.
