This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Supervise the Revenue and Cash Accounting teams to ensure prompt and precise monthly closing outcomes, along with supporting reporting packages and business analysis schedules.
• Manage accounting governance pertaining to revenue recognition, cash transactions, gift card accounting, and associated brand-level reporting in line with GAAP and internal control protocols.
• Create and refine processes that align with SEC reporting mandates, financial statement disclosures, sales reporting and analysis, as well as company restaurant profit and loss reporting.
• Collaborate with Financial Systems, IT, and business teams to guarantee that key systems and subsystems function accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide accounting support for business initiatives, acquisitions, refranchising efforts, system enhancements, and other projects that impact revenue, reporting processes, or cash flow.
• Cultivate and develop a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, workload prioritization, process discipline, and proactive problem-solving.
• Assist with external audits, which includes preparing and reviewing audit schedules, responding promptly to auditor inquiries, and coordinating Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required.
• CPA or an advanced accounting certification is preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of advancing leadership experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue accounting, general ledger, close management, and financial reporting.
• Experience in a public company setting is highly preferred.
• In-depth understanding of GAAP, including ASC 606.
• Capability to apply accounting principles to intricate revenue, acquisition, and franchise-related transactions.
• Proficiency in reviewing work, enhancing analytical quality, developing talent, and ensuring teams are accountable for accurate and timely outputs.
• Excellent executive communication skills.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Workday Adaptive, Rosnet, or similar financial systems is preferred.
