Senior Manager, Reliability Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and enhance the reliability strategy for automated fulfillment and material handling operations.

• Set enterprise reliability benchmarks and performance expectations across various sites.

• Identify key assets and potential failure risks that impact throughput, safety, and costs.

• Conduct root cause analyses and implement permanent corrective actions.

• Develop risk-based maintenance strategies that align with business impact and asset importance.

• Collaborate with Automation and Engineering teams to shape system designs for long-term reliability.

• Establish reliability data standards, key performance indicators, and reporting within CMMS and related systems.

• Examine downtime, performance trends, and cost factors to aid in staffing, capital, and vendor choices.

• Assist in new site launches by ensuring reliability readiness, documentation, and operational transitions.

• Standardize insights to facilitate repeatable and predictable site deployments on a large scale.

• Manage relationships with OEMs and vendors, including performance governance and escalation processes.

• Work in collaboration with Operations, IT, Safety, Finance, and Supply Chain to align reliability objectives.

• Communicate risks, trends, and areas for improvement to senior leadership.

• Maintain a significant onsite presence during critical launches or stabilization phases when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Reliability, or a related field) or equivalent experience is required.

• At least 12 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or asset performance roles.

• Experience in supporting automated or highly mechanized environments such as robotics, AS/RS, conveyors, AGVs, or automated material handling systems.

• Proven track record of influencing multi-site operations or enterprise programs is preferred.

• Experience with startups, ramp-ups, or greenfield launches is strongly preferred.

• Strong grasp of reliability principles, asset lifecycle management, and failure analysis.

• Demonstrated ability to convert technical issues into business risks and financial implications.

• Familiarity with CMMS platforms and performance reporting tools.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Capability to lead through influence rather than direct authority.

• Clear and concise communication skills suitable for engagement with executive audiences.

• Ability to work in active warehouse and automation environments, including multi-level structures and elevated platforms.

• Must adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE, LOTO, and fall protection standards.

• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client and customer locations by driving and/or flying.

• Ability to manage travel expenses using a personal credit card until reimbursement is processed bi-weekly.
