Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, monitor, and enhance automated CI/CD pipelines for code compilation, static code analysis, testing, integration, and deployment.

• Take ownership of infrastructure-as-code from start to finish using Terraform, covering module design, state management, environment promotion, drift detection, and review standards.

• Manage infrastructure on AWS GovCloud, GCP, Azure DevOps, and Kubernetes, focusing on optimizing uptime, cost-effectiveness, and security.

• Containerize and standardize workloads using Docker, which includes base images, multi-stage builds, registry strategies, and ensuring local/development parity.

• Integrate automated security scanning utilizing Fortify, Tenable, Grype, TruffleHog, and OpenSCAP.

• Develop automation and tooling in Python and TypeScript for internal CLIs, pipeline logic, glue code, and operational scripts.

• Establish observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.

• Set forth standards and guardrails for environment strategy, deployment policies, tagging, cost controls, and documentation.

• Facilitate compliance and continuous ATO by implementing NIST 800-53 and STIG controls.

• Oversee source repositories and version-control workflows utilizing Azure DevOps and GitHub.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

• Existing Secret clearance is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a STEM field; Computer Science is preferred.

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering.

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and managing cloud infrastructure, including AWS, AWS GovCloud, or similar platforms.

• In-depth expertise in Python, Bash, Terraform, and AWS Systems Manager (SSM).

• Strong background in constructing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent across development, testing, and deployment phases.

• Experience in embedding security scanning and compliance gates into pipelines (DevSecOps / shift-left).

• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and image/registry standards such as Harbor.

• Familiarity with NIST 800-53, STIG, RMF/ATO in a government or regulated setting.

• Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC certification in line with DODI 8140 requirements.
