This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
β’ Manage the underwriting and credit risk validation domain within the Model Risk Management framework.
β’ Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of quantitative experts while establishing strategic objectives.
β’ Conduct independent validations of advanced machine learning models related to underwriting and credit risk management.
β’ Assess conceptual validity, data accuracy, and performance consistency through testing, evaluations, and ongoing monitoring.
β’ Identify model deficiencies and work with model owners and developers to address validation issues.
β’ Develop and enhance the enterprise-wide Model Risk Management framework in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
β’ Liaise with Accounting, Internal Controls, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements.
β’ 9+ years of professional experience in a highly technical role, including model development, model validation, or quantitative analytics.
β’ Profound knowledge of machine learning modeling, underwriting, and credit risk management.
β’ Advanced scripting skills in Python.
β’ Proficiency in using SQL for manipulating and analyzing large-scale, complex datasets.
β’ Demonstrated success in hiring, managing, and mentoring quantitative teams.
β’ Capability to transition between strategic oversight and hands-on technical tasks.
β’ BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, or another quantitative field.
β’ Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, an inquisitive nature regarding model mechanics, and critical-thinking skills.
β’ Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
