This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a small, high-achieving team tasked with designing, automating, and continually enhancing a versatile Quality Management System that encompasses the vehicle platform lifecycle.
• Redesign the QMS and align it with the Safety Management System for Autonomy.
• Develop closed-loop continuous improvement processes, which include root cause analysis, CAPA-style workflows, trend analysis, and risk assessment.
• Implement design control practices that encompass design inputs/outputs, verification and validation, design reviews, and traceability.
• Streamline manual quality processes using AI/ML, LLM-based tools, and workflow automation, covering non-conformance triage, audit documentation, and fleet trend identification.
• Collaborate with autonomy, engineering, fleet operations, and technical support to link field issues and fleet data to design and engineering choices.
• Define and refine quality KPIs/OKRs that assess platform health and the effectiveness of the QMS.
• Engage with suppliers and partners regarding vehicle platform quality concerns and corrective measures.
• Develop and expand a quality systems function while fostering a culture of quality through enhanced tools.
• 5+ years of experience in building or leading quality systems within a hardware/software engineering context—such as automotive, robotics, aerospace, or another safety-critical industry.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• Practical experience with design controls, verification & validation, change management, and root cause/CAPA methodologies.
• Proven builder's mindset; experience in constructing, significantly overhauling, or enhancing a quality system or process.
• Comfort in driving improvements to eliminate manual tasks from quality processes.
• Familiarity with issue-tracking and workflow tools, such as Jira, for maintaining traceability throughout a product's lifecycle.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in presenting to and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Capability to interpret engineering documentation, including CAD drawings and wiring schematics.
• Knowledge of ISO/IATF standards.
• Experience in implementing and sustaining QM systems and conducting internal and external audits/assessments.
• Experience in facilitation techniques.
• Advanced expertise in FMEA, Configuration Management, and System and Document Management Systems.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to successfully complete a driving record check.
• A Master's degree in engineering, operations, or a quality-related field is preferred.
• Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling company is an asset.
• Working knowledge of ISO/IATF, ISO 26262, or similar frameworks is advantageous.
• Practical experience with AI/LLM tooling or workflow automation is a plus.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems or other robotics/safety-critical technologies is beneficial.
• ASQ or Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
