Senior Manager, Quality and Safety – Cardiac PET/CT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Enhance, execute, and perpetually refine CVAUSA’s cardiac PET/CT quality and safety initiative throughout its practice network.

• Develop and uphold quality metrics, protocols, and standard operating procedures for acquisition, stress protocols, tracer management, quantification, and interpretation.

• Create dashboards and reports for imaging quality and outcomes at both network and site levels.

• Act as a subject-matter expert on PET/CT accreditation standards, including those set by IAC and ACR.

• Assist practices in achieving initial accreditation and re-accreditation, including documentation, QC records, and competencies.

• Collaborate with the Medical Director and Radiation Safety Officer regarding clinical protocol specifics.

• Implement peer review and over-read programs for interpreting physicians.

• Analyze PET/CT results in comparison to invasive coronary angiography and utilize discordance analysis to initiate corrective actions.

• Examine billing and electronic health record data to discover quality variations, utilization patterns, and clinical outcomes.

• Execute and enhance quality-centric clinician training and competency requirements.

• Create continuing education content for PET/CT.

• Travel to affiliated practices to evaluate equipment, quality control, protocols, staff competencies, workflow, and image quality.

• Identify causes of imaging variations and substandard quality, leading remediation efforts.

• Employ PDSA cycles, root-cause analysis, and statistical process control to enhance diagnostic accuracy and safety.

• Establish benchmarks, monitor performance, and collaborate with practice leadership to maintain improvements.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience managing the quality of cardiac imaging services.

• 5+ years of specific involvement with cardiac PET, or 5+ years in nuclear cardiology/SPECT quality leadership with a proven capability to transition to PET-specific quality control.

• Profound knowledge of PET/CT accreditation quality criteria and best practices.

• Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing cardiac PET quality improvement initiatives, including routine peer review and PET/CT-to-coronary-angiography correlation programs.

• Experience in defining and implementing quality training and competency requirements for clinicians.

• Practical knowledge of operating high-quality cardiac PET/CT programs in community practice environments.

• Understanding of common sources and factors contributing to care variation and subpar imaging quality.

• 2+ years of experience driving quality improvements across imaging service lines, including cardiac PET.

• Proficient understanding of fundamental quality improvement principles.

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Preferred: based in the Southeast US or Florida.

• Preferred: experience in standardizing quality across a multi-site network or MSO environment.
