Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy – Public Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Assist the U.S. Chronic Care division by providing education to payors and policymakers through patient advocacy groups, professional organizations, and industry associations.

• Establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders at both state and federal levels.

• Influence public perception regarding challenges and solutions to enhance patient access to Coloplast products.

• Report on health policy and payment risks identified by the Reimbursement and Market Access teams.

• Support initiatives related to Market Access, Reimbursement, and Government Affairs.

• Propel Coloplast initiatives through collaboration with external stakeholders, groups, and forums.

• Manage and represent the Payors and Evidence initiatives with outside stakeholders.

• Create impactful public affairs campaigns in collaboration with internal teams and external public relations and media agencies.

• Evaluate campaign outcomes and suggest subsequent actions.

• Engage patient organizations, advocacy groups, professional societies, industry associations, and coalitions.

• Oversee the execution of global campaigns as part of the Global Government Affairs & Patient Advocacy team.

• Develop and implement a public affairs engagement toolbox tailored for commercial environments.

• Ensure internal alignment so that public affairs efforts support Coloplast's Chronic Care business goals.

• Collaborate with Coloplast and Comfort Medical teams to foster relationships with external stakeholders and facilitate business initiatives.

• Coordinate with the US Reimbursement and Government Affairs Director for federal stakeholder engagement.

• Assist US Market Access initiatives related to managed care, state-level access, policy expansion, and price protection.

• Travel as required to support significant initiatives.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, language and culture, political science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in developing and executing patient advocacy or public affairs campaigns.

• Proficient in communications, including storytelling, writing, strategic communications, and new media.

• Ability to cultivate strategic relationships with key personnel in stakeholder groups.

• Self-driven with the capacity to manage multiple projects and a strong focus on achieving results.

• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and spokesperson capabilities.

• Skill in articulating complex information and processes in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.

• Proficient in complex stakeholder and project management.

• Willingness to travel as necessary to support key initiatives.

• Adherence to applicable laws and regulations, the MedTech Code of Conduct, and company policies.

• A Master’s degree in communications, business, language and culture, political science, or a related field is preferred.

• Prior experience in patient advocacy, patient organizations, and/or public affairs within the medical device sector is preferred.

• Experience with campaigns addressing disability, healthcare inequity, unmet medical and emotional needs, personalized healthcare, mental health, human dignity, or chronic care coordination is preferred.
