
Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy – Public Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Assist the U.S. Chronic Care organization by providing education to payors and policymakers through patient groups, professional societies, and industry associations.
• Cultivate relationships with stakeholders at both state and federal levels to influence public sentiment and enhance patient access to Coloplast products.
• Identify and report health policy and payment risks as noted by the Reimbursement and Market Access teams.
• Support initiatives related to Market Access, Reimbursement, and Government Affairs.
• Propel initiatives through patient groups, professional societies, industry associations, and other external platforms.
• Manage relationships and represent Payors and Evidence initiatives with federal and state stakeholders.
• Develop impactful public affairs campaigns in collaboration with internal teams and external public relations and media agencies.
• Evaluate campaign outcomes and suggest subsequent actions.
• Engage stakeholders to educate and influence patients, healthcare providers, and payors.
• Oversee the execution of global campaigns.
• Create and implement a public affairs engagement toolkit for commercial settings.
• Foster internal alignment between public affairs and the objectives of the Chronic Care business.
• Collaborate with Coloplast and Comfort Medical teams to enhance relationships with external stakeholders and support business objectives.
• Coordinate engagement with federal stakeholders alongside the US Reimbursement and Government Affairs Director.
• Assist US Market Access initiatives concerning managed care, state-level access, policy expansion, and price protection.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards, relevant laws and regulations, MedTech/AdvaMed codes, and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in communications, business, language and culture, or political science from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in developing and executing patient advocacy or public affairs campaigns.
• Proficiency in communications, including storytelling, writing, strategic communications, and a solid understanding of new media.
• Capability to establish strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and deliver results.
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and spokesperson skills.
• Skill in conveying complex information and processes clearly, concisely, and compellingly.
• Strong stakeholder and project management capabilities.
• Willingness to travel as necessary to support critical initiatives.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in communications, business, language and culture, or political science.
• Preferred: Experience in patient advocacy, patient organizations, and/or public affairs within the medical device sector.
• Preferred: Experience leading public campaigns addressing disability and healthcare inequity, unmet medical and emotional needs, social justice, personalized healthcare, mental health, human dignity, and chronic care coordination.
