This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct enterprise-wide operational support for RTX’s virtual computing environments, encompassing VDI, engineering compute platforms, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Supervise a team dedicated to ensuring reliable, secure, scalable, and sustainable virtual platforms.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to formulate strategies, roadmaps, standards, and best practices.
• Propel platform standardization, operational excellence, innovation, continuous improvement, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee KPIs and assess solution supportability.
• Enhance cross-platform capabilities and guarantee consistent support across different domains.
• Forge partnerships across Enterprise Digital Technology and business organizations to synchronize virtualization strategies.
• Spearhead technology roadmaps, standards, and best practices for virtualization and interconnected platforms.
• Foster platform resilience and customer satisfaction across global operations.
• Impact enterprise architecture and technology decisions by assessing solution options and conveying value to both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure high availability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across virtual platforms.
• Cultivate team capabilities through cross-training, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Aid business growth, new program onboarding, and emerging requirements through scalable operational processes.
• Reference documented work instructions for daily job activities.
• A University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of relevant prior experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
• Capability to collaborate with customers and senior leadership, ensuring deliverables are met and driving accountability for key milestones.
• Proven experience in leading and delivering reliable operational platforms in global production environments.
• Background in supporting virtual desktop infrastructure in medium to large enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and architectures across compute, network, storage, application, and automation layers.
• Experience in strategic planning, technology roadmapping, and deploying sustainable solutions in intricate, 24/7 production environments.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service abilities.
• Proficiency in collaborating with senior technical and business leaders.
• Aptitude for solving complex problems, balancing competing priorities, and delivering practical, supportable solutions.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Solaris and/or Windows integration in medium to large-scale environments.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms and operational models for high-availability environments.
• Experience with enterprise storage technologies such as NetApp and PowerMax.
