Senior Manager, Global Procurement – Corporate and Professional Services

📋 Description

• Take ownership and implement multi-year category strategies for Travel, Translation, Insurance, Cash, HR Services, and various other corporate and professional services categories.

• Transform insights related to spending, demand, market trends, suppliers, and risks into actionable category plans, sourcing priorities, value objectives, and implementation roadmaps.

• Develop sourcing guides that encompass market intelligence, pricing and commercial models, contracting strategies, evaluation criteria, and negotiation tactics.

• Construct a cohesive sourcing pipeline that aligns with contract expiration dates, renewal periods, benefits cycles, and operational priorities.

• Lead intricate, high-value sourcing projects through RFx processes, evaluation, negotiation, awarding contracts, and implementation.

• Implement evaluation governance that ensures transparent decision-making, stakeholder accountability, and comprehensive audit trails.

• Provide guidance to business owners regarding specifications, statements of work, service levels, pricing models, and contract frameworks.

• Manage commercial escalations and address significant supplier, service, and contract-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

• Cultivate resilient supplier networks through framework agreements, pre-qualified panels, strategic partnerships, and regional or global coverage models.

• Categorize suppliers based on value, criticality, and risk, and apply tailored governance strategies accordingly.

• Establish performance expectations and conduct structured supplier business reviews.

• Foster supplier accountability, corrective actions, continuous improvement, and innovation.

• Serve as the primary Global Procurement partner for People & Culture, Safety & Security, and other corporate functions.

• Persuade senior stakeholders with data-driven recommendations regarding market options, supplier strategy, commercial trade-offs, risks, and overall value.

• Collaborate with Safety & Security on travel duty of care and traveler risk management needs.

• Ensure that sourcing and supplier management practices adhere to IRC policies, donor requirements, delegated authorities, and audit standards.

• Integrate privacy, information security, ethical considerations, and regulatory requirements into sourcing and contracting processes.

• Maintain precise records of spending, contracts, pipelines, savings, risks, and supplier performance data.

• Ensure that sourcing decisions and contract documentation are complete, up-to-date, and ready for audits.

• Contribute category expertise and market insights to enterprise-wide procurement transformation and continuous improvement efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• CIPS Level 4 or higher, or a comparable procurement qualification.

• A minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible procurement experience, including significant ownership of category management and strategic sourcing.

• Proven success in leading complex competitive sourcing, multi-supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract awards.

• Strong commercial acumen and a history of enhancing value, supplier performance, and risk management outcomes.

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and translate business requirements into effective sourcing strategies.

• Robust analytical skills in spend analysis, market evaluation, business case development, and performance reporting.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the skill to clearly present complex issues and recommendations.

• Desirable: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Desirable: Direct category experience in travel, insurance, HR/BPO, language services, or other corporate and professional services.

• Desirable: Procurement experience within an NGO or nonprofit setting, including knowledge of donor compliance frameworks.

• Proficiency in Spanish or Arabic is a plus.
