This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee the design, execution, and management of benefits programs outside the U.S., which encompass insurance, time off, and retirement plans.
• Act as the regional expert on benefits, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and alignment with global best practices.
• Establish governance structures, processes, and operational models across various regions and international stakeholders.
• Collaborate with U.S. HR, Legal, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, and Communications teams.
• Create governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and analytics that support regional strategies and cross-country standardization.
• Manage relationships with regional and global vendors, which include brokers, consultants, insurers, and third-party administrators.
• Lead the request for proposals (RFPs), vendor selection processes, and implementation efforts.
• Conduct benchmarking activities and oversee regional budgets.
• Assist with multinational risk strategies, such as pooling and participation in captive arrangements.
• Supervise benefits for globally mobile employees, encompassing expatriates, inpatriates, and cross-border workers.
• Track legislative and market changes that impact regional benefits programs and mobile employee populations.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and influence outcomes in uncertain environments.
• Provide insights, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
• At least 6 years of international benefits experience, particularly focused on Canada and/or Latin America, with a preference for Mexico.
• Proficient knowledge of Canadian provincial programs and/or Mexican statutory and supplemental benefits.
• Experience in designing and administering benefits for globally mobile employees, such as expatriates, inpatriates, and cross-border workers.
• Background in functioning within a large, global, and highly matrixed organization.
• Proven experience in establishing governance and operating models in environments with limited infrastructure.
• Experience working within centralized global governance frameworks.
• Skilled in managing regional programs within a global context.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities and achieve results in a dynamic, cross-functional setting.
• Experience in conveying complex topics to senior leadership.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or a similar global benefits credential.
• Familiarity with multinational benefits financing, including pooling and captive arrangements, is preferred.
• Knowledge of global mobility benefits vendors and international health solutions is advantageous.
• Experience with cross-border compliance and tax issues for mobile employees is preferred.
• Background in large global, multi-layered organizations is preferred.
• M&A integration experience is preferred.
• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
