Senior Manager – Financial Planning and Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Serve as the lead for Financial Planning and Analysis for the New York Medicaid Health Plan.

• Directly assist the CFO in reaching financial and strategic objectives.

• Manage and propel business actions and financial targets throughout the Plan.

• Supervise the creation, evaluation, and reporting of financial forecasts, budgets, and key performance indicators.

• Ensure the alignment of financial strategies with state Medicaid regulations and corporate objectives.

• Deliver actionable insights to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

• Oversee comprehensive financial reports that correspond with strategic objectives.

• Identify financial variances and trends, providing insights for strategic decision-making.

• Lead the budgeting process for the business unit or region.

• Act as a liaison between senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

• Spearhead strategic financial planning, aligning financial resources with long-term objectives.

• Drive cost optimization initiatives and enhance efficiency.

• Advise executive leadership on financial strategies, resource allocation, and long-term goals.

• Lead cross-functional teams to synchronize departments and achieve business goals.

• Promote process enhancements, innovation, and best practices in financial operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of financial experience, including strategic and business planning, financial planning, analysis, P&L management, reporting, or accounting.

• At least 5 years of experience in the healthcare or insurance sectors.

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related fields is required, or equivalent years of experience.

• Experience in Health Plan Finance is preferred.

• Preferred experience in P&L management and leadership with budgets and forecasts.

• Desired experience in budget development and the identification of risks and opportunities.

• Preferred ownership of P&L and key financial metrics.

• Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or Commercial health insurance products and financial drivers is preferred.

• An advanced degree in Business and/or FSA/CPA is preferred.

• Preferred experience in financial analysis, trends, projections, and analytics.
