This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Implement federal advocacy strategies to promote Cardinal Health’s business objectives.
• Establish, nurture, and sustain relationships with congressional offices, committees, and pertinent stakeholders.
• Track policy changes, proposed federal legislation, regulations, congressional committees, federal agencies, and policy initiatives.
• Evaluate legislative and regulatory impacts on Cardinal Health and its stakeholders, and formulate recommendations and solutions.
• Represent Cardinal Health within trade associations, coalitions, and industry working groups.
• Shape policy positions and coordinate advocacy initiatives.
• Create policy analyses, talking points, comment letters, and materials for congressional briefings.
• Organize and carry out executive engagement opportunities with elected officials and government stakeholders.
• Assist with political engagement efforts, including PAC events and initiatives for relationship-building with policymakers.
• Anticipate legislative, regulatory, and political risks and opportunities, and devise proactive strategies.
• Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide thought leadership and expertise in subject matters.
• Aid in the development of Government Relations strategies, policies, and processes.
• Lead complex short- and long-term projects across various teams and functions.
• Mentor and assist in the professional growth of team members.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is highly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in federal government relations, public policy, legislative affairs, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Recent experience on Capitol Hill or within the administration is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare, trade, or supply chain legislative and regulatory matters.
• Experience engaging with relevant governmental agencies and congressional committees.
