This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the Energy Lead for a range of hyperscale data center initiatives
• Create, oversee, and uphold energy strategies for projects from site selection to energization
• Collaborate with Development, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Executive Leadership teams
• Identify potential risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and offer recommendations for significant project decisions
• Foster relationships with electric utilities, natural gas utilities, transmission providers, regulators, consultants, and energy infrastructure developers
• Spearhead engagement strategies with utility and gas companies, including negotiations and issue resolution
• Propel external stakeholders to achieve project milestones and energization timelines
• Oversee consultant and vendor activities that support the execution of energy projects
• Lead the assessment and adoption of utility, transmission, natural gas, onsite generation, microgrid, BESS, and alternative energy solutions
• Manage interconnection and utility service strategies, applications, studies, and energization prerequisites
• Explore and assess alternative pathways for energization
• Direct commercial and regulatory engagements to secure power capacity and minimize delivery risks
• Analyze project energy costs, infrastructure investments, and commercial trade-offs
• Keep track of regulatory advancements and aid in business case development and investment decisions
• Ensure accountability for energy infrastructure budgets, timelines, and performance KPIs
• Manage technical, commercial, and power delivery risks effectively
• Assist in capital planning, investment case development, and executive decision-making
• Bachelor’s degree in business, law, energy policy, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in energy, utility, power infrastructure, natural gas infrastructure, project development, energy procurement, utility interconnections, power generation, transmission, or similar sectors
• Proven experience leading intricate infrastructure or energy initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Comprehensive understanding of energy markets, utility regulations, transmission planning, and commercial frameworks for large energy consumers
• Capability to devise innovative and unconventional energy infrastructure solutions
• Experience engaging with electric utilities, natural gas utilities, transmission providers, regulators, consultants, and infrastructure developers
• Proficient in assessing energy supply options, infrastructure limitations, project risks, and commercial trade-offs
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage utility agreements, tariffs, service contracts, fuel supply arrangements, or other energy-related commercial contracts
• Skilled in managing multiple complex projects concurrently in a fast-paced development environment
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation abilities
• Proficient in English; Spanish is highly desirable
• Willingness and capability to travel as necessary, with standard travel expectations of 20–30%
